Ravens safety Tom Zbikowski is appealing the result of a drug test he reportedly failed after Saturday’s boxing match in Thackersville, Okla.

Zbikowski took the test after defeating Blake Warner in a first-round knockout to improve to 4-0 as a professional boxer, a path he has been pursuing with the uncertain labor situation currently facing the NFL.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Zbikowski tested positive for THC, which is found in marijuana.

“We’re aware of the reports through the media. At this time, we are not allowed to reach out to Tom and get his side of the situation,” a Ravens spokesman said in a statement.

Zbikowski’s attorney Mike Joyce believes it was a false positive.

“After the fight, all the fighters tested were positive,” Joyce said.  “They had you pee in a cup and put a strip of something in there. I’ve never seen results where you get them the day of the fight. It was like a home pregnancy test or something.”

Joyce told The Baltimore Sun that Zbikowski is sending the commission a negative result from a “more in-depth test.”

Per the failed test, Zbikowski will be suspended 45 days by the Chickasaw Nation Boxing Commission pending a second negative test.  He is scheduled to fight June 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

“Tom was in shock,” Joyce told National Football Post. “His body is a temple. He doesn’t do drugs.”

“He’s taken all sorts of tests for the NFL and he’s never tested positive … ever.”

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told The Sun that the league does not know the facts of the case but will review them
